at last, i am finally blogging about one of my personal favorite shoots from last summer - jenine monks' lifestyle shoot.  jenine and i had discussed a few different ways to explore her portraits, stemming from something moody and based on film noir. but, when i found out that jenine's mother, janice, had a modeling portfolio from when she was jenine's age, that became the springboard for the shoot.   here are a few of janice's portraits we took on as inspiration pieces, shot in the 1970's. 

​and below are a sampling of jenine's portraits.  that gaze is mesmerizing, both for mother and daughter.  i'm so glad to have worked on this shoot - we might pick up again this summer (if time allows) and pursue this project a bit further.  stay tuned.
