kelly + paul | german village sidewalk popup wedding.

couples often ask us what our favorite weddings are, and our response is always the same, "the ones that are all about the couple and their love for each other; the ones that take it out of the box and make their day really about who they are and how they fell in love."  this one is one of those weddings. kelly called me a week before their wedding, so naturally i was a bit panicked at first. but once she explained to me what they wanted to do, we were 100% on board. the goal was to have a 'spontaneous' sidewalk wedding on the stoop where they first met in german village.  what was most important to them and a major part of their relationship was this one city block is where they lived 4 houses form each other. so, they sent out an invitation to their friends and family to show up at paul's old house stoop where kelly walked down to from her old house, and the rest is history.

just before the ceremony, we spent a good hour doing their 'first look' and roaming around some of their favorite places. as we took photos, they reminisced about certain memories, it felt more like a romantic stroll and a walk back in time for them than a shoot. and that is why we love shooting weddings like this - because we share a moment and a memory with our lovely couple, and really craft our shooting style and approach based on them.  it's a real collaboration, but more importantly, it's real, unabashed love.
