jenine + alex | seventh son brewery octoberfest wedding.

jenine-and-alex-blog54.jpg

jenine and alex are very dear to our hearts, and we were so elated when they asked us to shoot their wedding. their octoberfest-themed wedding was laid-back, sweet and full of tarot-card reading goodness. jenine incorporated a german tradition of log cutting at the end of the ceremony, which put a whole different spin on the whole 'wedding bubbles' exit idea. and all of the details and overall aesthetic of the day was killer. nothing is more rewarding than documenting our friends' weddings. as if watching them say 'i do' wasn't enough, being their photographers we became their shadows and saw all of the moments and emotions of their day; all of the behind the scenes reactions, getting-ready butterflies,  the pure joy of seeing each other for the first time, the excitement of greeting friends and loved ones. it's an emotional roller coaster for them, and us.  and in turn, our photographs become more intimate and blur that boundary between private and shared.  this is as real as it gets.

31 december 2011 2011 was a wonderful year for us, personally and professionally.  aperture's family grew by the bounds, as we've made some wonderful friendships along the way.  we pushed ourselves creatively and produced some of our favorite work to date (photographically, and musically).  on a personal level, we bought our first home and are happy to put down roots in our dear clintonville.

many thanks to everyone who's made this year a blessing for us.  a few stop motion moments from this year are below. here's to a new year of new friendships, on-going conversations, incredible music and the never-ending love.  h & p
